Mill Creek Road bridge to close

LOWER MERION Beginning next Monday, the Mill Creek Road bridge in Lower Merion township will be closed for repairs.

A township spokesman said the project is expected to take as long as three months, with traffic coming from Old Gulph Road to Righters Mill Road diverted from using the bridge. The detour route will be along Old Gulph, Hagys Ford, and Righters Mill Roads, the township said.

The township advertisement for bids on the work says the bridge "is a dual span closed spandrel deck concrete arch bridge 65 feet in length that traverses Mill Creek at 800 Mill Creek Road, Gladwyne."

Work will include structural repairs to the concrete, sealing cracks, and "milling and overlaying the deck," the township said.
