A 21-year-old man is in critical condition after a double shooting in the Swampoodle section of North Philadelphia in which an 18-year-old woman also was wounded, police said.

The man was outside in the 3000 block of Fox Street, near North 22nd Street, when shots were fired shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday, police said.

He was hit twice in the left hand, once in the right shoulder, and once in the back. Police took him to Temple University Hospital, where he was reported in critical condition.

The wounded woman, who said she had heard two gunshots but did not see who had fired the shots, was struck in the right knee, police said. She was listed in stable condition at Temple University Hospital.

No arrests had been made late Saturday morning, police said, and no description was available of the shooter or shooters.
