More sex charges against Chesco music teacher

The Chester County piano teacher accused last week of sexually assaulting three students was charged Wednesday with showing nude pictures to three others, prosecutors said.

The Chester County piano teacher accused last week of sexually assaulting three students was charged Wednesday with showing nude pictures to three others, prosecutors said.

Mike Noone, first assistant district attorney, said the parents of the three other children - all boys - contacted officials after seeing news coverage of Anton Fomin's arrest.

Fomin, 44, of East Pikeland Township, was charged last Thursday with sexually assaulting three 6-year-olds, one boy and two girls, he taught at the Malvern School of Music. The children told police Fomin had touched their genitals multiple times during private lessons at the school, according to an affidavit.

He is being held on $300,000 bail, according to court documents.

The three boys involved in the new charges against Fomin are also students at the Malvern school, according to Deborah Ryan, the deputy district attorney in charge of the child abuse unit. She said two of the boys are 6 and one is 7.

Officials have said Fomin also gave lessons in his home.

He now faces more than two dozen charges, including attempted aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, and corruption of minors. Fomin does not have a listed phone number, and could not be reached for comment.

Fomin immigrated to the United States from Russia in 1999, inspired by "a sense of adventure," he told The Inquirer for a 2008 article on his skills as a teacher and musician.

"Teaching is like playing piano with my students' hands. It's very gratifying and satisfying," he said.

The article described Fomin, at the end of one of his pupils' performances, giving the boy a vigorous bear hug and kissing him on the top of his head.
