Two men were killed in separate shootings overnight, one of them shot execution style in the backseat of a Mercedes Benz in East Germantown, police said.

That car with the victim inside was found about 6:25 a.m. Thursday on the 500 block of East Armstrong Street, police said.

The victim, said to be about 25 years old, was shot once in the head and pronounced dead at the scene at 6:48 a.m., police said. No weapon was found and homicide detectives are investigating.

Earlier, a man sitting behind the wheel of a minivan at North 10th and Harper Streets in North Philadelphia was shot twice in the chest around 4:30 a.m., police said. A passenger in the vehicle was not hurt.

The victim, said to be in his mid 20s, was able to drive about a block to a Dunkin' Donuts store at North 10th Street and Girard Avenue, where he was found by Housing Police.

Officers transported the man to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:53 a.m.

Investigators were questioning the passenger and checking surveillance cameras that might provide helpful video.
