Upper Merion assistance board awards grant money

KING OF PRUSSIA The Upper Merion Township Board of Community Assistance recognized its grant recipients at Thursday's Board of Supervisors meeting.

There were 95 applicants for grant money - 53 organizations, nine sports, and 33 scholarship applicants - and the board awarded a total of $154,441. An reception is scheduled for July 10 from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel to recognize those who received grant money.

The Board of Community Assistance was created to advise the Board of Supervisors on the disbursement of money received from the Valley Forge Casino Resort.

It is designed to review the township's program of need-based community issues, and provide greater public participation and input into local government.
