A 22-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday night in the Feltonville section of the city, police said.

At 9:32 p.m., police were called to the area of Fourth and Cayuga Streets, where officers found the victim on a sidewalk in the 300 block of Cayuga, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Police took the man to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:48 p.m. He had been shot several times in the torso, Small said. At least 10 shots were fired, and the spent shell casings were arrayed around the man's body, indicating that he was hit "at point-blank range," Small said. The shooter remained on the loose Wednesday night. - Robert Moran
