Man critically wounded in Kensington shooting

A 21-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting late Wednesday afternoon in the city's Kensington section, police said.

About 5:30 p.m., police responded to reports of gunfire at the intersection of Rosehill and Somerset Streets and found seven spent shell casings, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The victim had been taken by private automobile to Episcopal Hospital, then transferred to Temple University Hospital with multiple bullet wounds to his upper body, Small said. Detectives located private surveillance video that may show the shooting. There was no description of the perpetrator. - Robert Moran
