Videos to educate about child abuse

MEDIA Delaware County is using videos to educate the public about child abuse.

A new video training series, unveiled at the County Council meeting Wednesday, has information about warning signs of child abuse and reporting requirements.

The series includes a set of six training videos for school personnel and a second set of six shorter videos for the public.

The videos "inform you of the warning signs of abuse and what you can do to protect children at risk," Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan said in the introductory video segment.

"We strongly recommend that every school entity and every youth organization develop their own formal policies for maintaining professional relationships with children and reporting suspected abuse," he said. - Laura McCrystal
