DEVON A Devon man was charged Tuesday with sexual assaults dating back more than two decades after officials say the alleged victim went to the police in January.

Lawrence Carroll, 46, is accused of abusing a boy, then 6, starting in 1990 and continuing through 1995, when the alleged victim was 11, according to an affidavit in the case.

Carroll, who state records show is a licensed attorney, was in his mid-20s at the time of the alleged incidents, officials said.

The man who reported the abuse told a Tredyffrin police detective in January that Carroll had abused him about two dozen times at Carroll's home, along a set of railroad tracks nearby and at other Chester County locations.

Carroll has been charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child and other related offenses. According to the Chester County District Attorney, he was arraigned Tuesday at the Chesterbrook District Court, where bail was set at $75,000 cash.
