Woman's body is found in Schuylkill

THE BODY of an Asian woman was pulled from the Schuylkill yesterday morning, according to police.

About 10 a.m., a construction crew notified police that a corpse was floating in the river near South Street, said Officer Tanya Little, a police spokeswoman.

The woman's identity and age were not available last night, nor was it clear how she died, Little said.

She said police were looking into the possibility that the body was that of Yuhua Lu, 64, whose family reported her missing earlier this month from her home on Paoli Avenue near Matthias Street in Roxborough.

Last Wednesday, another woman was rescued from the river near Girard Avenue and taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, police said. She was later released.
