Car hits Navy Yard guard shack; 1 injured

A 55-year-old man was hospitalized after being injured when a suspected drunk driver crashed a vehicle into a security guard shack Monday night at the Navy Yard in South Philadelphia, police said.

A 55-year-old man was hospitalized after being injured when a suspected drunk driver crashed a vehicle into a security guard shack Monday night at the Navy Yard in South Philadelphia, police said.

About 7:40 p.m., the vehicle crashed into a fence and the guard shack, police said. A security guard suffered injuries to his neck, back, and a hip, and was taken by a medic unit to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. - Robert Moran
