U. Darby police probe flophouse slaying

Upper Darby police are investigating the slaying of a a 60-year-old man found dead in an apartment with scissors stuck in his chest.

Robert Diclemente had been dead for about four days before one of the other individuals sharing the apartment informed a township employee, who then alerted police, said Police Superintendent Michael J. Chitwood.

The one-bedroom unit was located in an apartment complex in the 100 block of Richfield Road, said Chitwood. The victim had rented the apartment and it was being used by others as a flophouse, he said.

Police are looking for three people who were last seen with the victim over the weekend, Chitwood said.
