In a nonjury trial, Jahina Damon was found guilty but mentally ill in the 2007 death of Lolita Lee, 52.

A WEST Philadelphia woman was found guilty yesterday of the brutal and bizarre murder of her mother in 2007.

Jahina Damon, 35, was found guilty but mentally ill of first-degree murder, attempted murder and related counts by Common Pleas Judge Steven R. Geroff, according to the District Attorney's Office.

On Dec. 20, 2007, Damon killed her mother, Lolita Lee, 52, by shooting her in the chest, dousing her with gasoline and then setting her on fire inside a home on Cobbs Creek Parkway near 60th Street.

Another woman was badly burned but survived. Geroff, who presided over the nonjury trial, set sentencing for May 13.
