Abington and Haverford Townships declare snow emergencies

Abington Township has declared a snow emergency effective at 6 p.m. Wednesday until 10 a.m. Friday, officials announced.

As such, parking on snow emergency routes is restricted, and any vehicles left parked or abandoned on a snow emergency route may be towed and impounded.

Also, Haverford Township declared a snow emergency effective 11 a.m. Wednesday until noon Friday.

All township buildings including the Library (Municipal Administration, Skatium, CREC, and Library) will be closed on Thursday and will reopen 11 a.m. on Friday.

All trash and recycling collections are cancelled for both Thursday and Friday. Trash and recycling collections will resume to a normal schedule on Tuesday.
