WAYNE A regional women's resource center is launching an outreach program in Chester County that will provide educational, housing, and emotional support to female veterans and military members.

Michele Daly, executive director of the Women's Resource Center in Wayne, said the initiative was started after the office started receiving more calls from women struggling with transition from the service into civilian life.

The center also helps provide legal services and counseling, including for post-traumatic stress.

The program is being funded through a $5,000 grant from the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation and a $2,500 grant from the Chester County Fund for Women and Girls.

All of the center's programs are offered at a reduced cost or for free. Those interested in services may call 610-687-6391. - Tricia L. Nadolny
