THREE MALES were taken into custody after visiting a friend in the hospital who later died, police said.

That's what happens when one member of your group brings a gun to a hospital.

The patient, a 23-year-old man, was found yesterday inside a Chevy Impala parked on Nedro Avenue near Beechwood Street in East Germantown, Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

When officers arrived at the scene about 3:30 p.m., the victim was hanging out of the rear of the vehicle, which was still running, and had been shot once in the head, Small said.

He was rushed to nearby Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 4:11 p.m. - and where one armed male and two friends decided to pay him a visit.

"We don't know why they were there," Small said.

"But when you're walking around a hospital with a gun, that's never a good sign."

Witnesses were being interviewed by Homicide Unit detectives last night, Small said. No information on a motive was available.
