Two men were arrested and charged with setting a cat on fire last week in the city's Olney section, the Pennsylvania SPCA reported Tuesday.

Tyrique Hall, 21, of the 5200 block of North Third Street, and Jose Sanchez, 18, of the 100 block of West Fisher Street, were charged with criminal conspiracy, possession of an instrument of crime, and cruelty to animals, the PSPCA said. The suspects could face up to 10 years in jail.

The cat, named Campbell, was recovering in the PSPCA shelter hospital and was expected to remain there for at least another month. The incident occurred Nov. 10; a witness said that she saw the cat on fire running in the area of Third and Wellens Street and that she heard one of the men allegedly say that he had doused the cat with "a lot of fluid," the PSPCA said.
