Philly rapper and friends robbed of $40G at Atlanta Waffle House

THERE'S NO waffling about it.

A Philadelphia rapper who, along with two of his friends, was robbed at gunpoint of $40,000 worth of jewelry inside a Waffle House in Atlanta late last month, doesn't want the cops to investigate.

"There's no reason for the police to be involved," said rapper Louie V Gutta, whose real name is Vincent Lamar Robinson. "If I heard on the streets tomorrow who did it, I wouldn't go to the police."

Gutta, 25, a rapper, songwriter and producer who is signed to Meek Mill's Dream Chasers Records, was in Atlanta the last weekend of September for BET's Hip Hop Awards, according to his Twitter feed.

Gutta and two of his friends from Philadelphia, Raheem Jefferson, 32, and Derrick Johnson, 20, had been at the Room Service Lounge in Atlanta in the early-morning hours of Sept. 30 before heading to the Waffle House about 6:30 a.m. for breakfast, according to a report from the Atlanta Police Department.

Not too long after their arrival, a man who had entered the 24-hour restaurant a few minutes after the trio sat at their table and pointed a black semiautomatic handgun at Gutta, demanding his jewelry, police said.

Another man stood over their table during the stickup and after it was quietly over, the two robbers "calmly" walked out of the Waffle House, the police report said.

Taken from Gutta was a $20,000 diamond-covered Rolex watch and a $6,000 gold chain with a diamond pendant, police said. Stolen from Jefferson was a custom-made Submariner Rolex watch worth $13,000 and an iPhone worth $500, according to police. Johnson, who was not wearing any jewelry, was robbed of his $500 iPhone, police said.

Sgt. Gregory Lyon, an Atlanta Police Department spokesman, said police are aware that the victims are recording artists from Philadelphia. He said police believe the trio was followed from the Room Service Lounge and targeted by the stickup artists.

Lyon said the case remains an ongoing investigation, but that police are "having a hard time reaching the victims." They will be contacting Philadelphia police to see if they can assist, he said.

Surprised when reached by a reporter yesterday, Gutta said he didn't understand the interest from media and police in the case.

"That kind of stuff happens every day," he said. "It's unfortunate this time it was on me, but I don't want nobody locked up behind it. I don't really live by that."

A video on YouTube titled "Louie V Gutta of Meek Mill Dream Chaser Records Robbed In Atlanta waffle house," which shows the police investigation of the robbery and identifies Robinson as one of the victims, had more than 112,000 views as of yesterday.

But Gutta, who has more than 26,000 followers on Twitter, wishes it would all "go away."

"I'm not worried if anyone [goes] to jail," he said. "Something happened. It's cool. Money is money."
