Two injured as car crashes into house
A 12-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy were injured Tuesday evening when a car crashed into a house in the city's Kensington section, police said.
The vehicle, which was believed to have been stolen, was traveling at a high rate of speed about 6:44 p.m. when it swerved into a house in the 2100 block of East Somerset Street, police said. The girl, who was near the house, sustained abdominal injuries and is in serious condition at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, police said.
The boy, who was a passenger in the car, sustained back injuries and is in stable condition at St. Christopher's, police said.
The driver, a 24-year-old man who was not identified, and another individual were taken into custody, police said. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
