Man shot dead in S.W. Phila.

A 26-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday night in the Kingsessing section of Southwest Philadelphia, police said. About 7:20, the man was shot at least once in the left side of his chest in the 5600 block of Beaumont Avenue, said Chief Inspector Scott Small. The victim ran around the corner to the intersection of 57th Street and Florence Avenue and collapsed.

Medics took him to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead at 7:44, Small said. No arrests were reported. - Robert Moran
