The body of a 23-year-old Glen Mills man has been recovered from the Delaware River in Delaware County.

Authorities said Robert Miller had jumped into the water about 3:30 a.m. Sunday as part of a fun outing at the Golden Point Marina & Yacht Club in Tinicum Township's Essington neighborhood.

Miller's body was recovered about 11 a.m. by the Chester Police Department's dive team, 75 feet north of where he jumped into the river, police said. Miller had not resurfaced after jumping off the club's dock into the river, police said.

Marine units from the Tinicum Township Fire Department and the Leedom Fire Co., as well as rescuers from the U.S. Coast Guard, helped in the search.

The cause of Miller's death was not immediately known. The Delaware County Medical Examiner's Office took possession of his body at the scene.
