Delaware state police are investigating allegations of bestiality in Milford after they arrested a woman on charges of having sex with a dog.

Police say the acts occurred in the woman's home and that her boyfriend was also arrested for taking photos. The investigation began late last month from a concerned citizen's tip.

Troopers arrested 24-year-old Samantha L. Golt, on charges that she had sexual intercourse with a dog. Her 25-year-old boyfriend, James P. Crow, was also arrested.

Police say both have been charged with engaging in a sexual act with an animal and conspiracy. They were released after posting bail.

Golt hung up on a reporter when contacted at her home early Friday morning.

The Delaware State News (http://delaware.newszap.com) citing court documents, said the investigation began Dec. 28 with the tip made about possible dog abuse.

The photographs taken by Crow were collected as evidence, and police used a a Delaware Justice Information System Web Portal photo to identify Golt as the woman having sex with the dog.

Ms. Golt and Mr. Crow were each charged with one count of felony bestiality and felony second-degree conspiracy for the offense, the court papers said, between Aug. 31, 2012 and Dec. 29, 2012.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for today in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas in Dover.

A state police spokesman told the Delaware State News that the couple was issued a "no-contact order" with animals, and the Kent County SPCA was notified.
