OFFICER MOSES Walker Jr. was the fourth Philadelphia cop to die tragically this year, all since June. The other three:

* July 15: OFFICER MARC BRADY, 32, was off duty and riding his bicycle in East Mount Airy when he was struck by a car driven by Kareem Alleyne, Brady's ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend. Alleyne faces charges of homicide by vehicle and manslaughter. Police say Alleyne intentionally hit Brady's bike. Brady, a father of nine, joined the Police Department in 2004. He was assigned to Police Headquarters.

* July 8: OFFICER BRIAN LORENZO, 48, was riding his police motorcycle home from work when he was struck head-on by an alleged drunken driver. The driver, John Leck Jr., who police said was traveling the wrong way on Interstate 95, has been charged with third-degree murder. Lorenzo, a 23-year veteran of the force assigned to the elite Highway Patrol Unit, was survived by his wife and three children.

* June 14: OFFICER MILAN MERKE, 28, died six days after he was involved in a motorcycle crash June 8 while off duty. Merke was riding south on Broad Street when he crashed into a northbound car making a left turn on Master Street. Merke, assigned to the 35th District, with four years on the force, was a member of the Philly X-Treme Motorcycle Club and was about to join other bikers for a peace ride in North Philadelphia.
