Police have released the name of man gunned down Tuesday morning in the Bustleton section of the Northeast.

Police have released the name of man gunned down Tuesday morning in the Bustleton section of the Northeast.

Landis Carter, 25, lived in the 2300 block of Tremont Street. He was sitting in a car in the parking lot at the Plaza Towers there when he was shot in the chest, back and right arm, according to police.

He was found at 6:44 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A suspect was described as a black male in a red hooded sweatshirt who drove away westbound on Tremont Street, but the motive was unknown.

The city's homicide total for the year was 197 as of midnight.
