Terrell Owens' Moorestown mansion sold after 5 years

Five years after it went on the market, the Moorestown mansion briefly occupied by former Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens has been sold.

Yes, five years on the market.

Given the state of real estate, it's safe to say Owens, now with the Cincinnati Bengals, took a bath on it. The sales price has not been released.

Owens paid $3.9 million in May 2004 for the lavish five-bedroom, 71/2-bath home with 7,917 square feet of living space and a three-car garage by Rancocas Creek.

He initially put it on the market in October 2005 for $4.4 million.

He's been paying $37,000 a year in property tax.

The driveway was the scene of one of the more bizarre sports news conferences in Philadelphia history. In August 2005, Eagles coach Andy Reid tossed Owens from camp for loutish behavior. Reporters followed Owens home, and he did interviews while performing sit-ups and playing basketball. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, showed up later.

The price and the name of the buyer, which Realtor Melissa Rattner Young also declined to release, will be on the public record when the deed is recorded.
