A 70-year-old former Philadelphia police captain was arrested yesterday in the city and charged in Delaware County with dozens of child-pornography offenses, authorities said.

Leo Haley, of Lauriston Street near Roxborough Avenue, in Roxborough, was among four men busted following an investigation by the Delaware County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Altogether, 10 warrants were executed yesterday in Philadelphia with the help of city police and State Police.

"The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected as a result of the warrants," said Michael Mattson, a spokesman for the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.

Haley, who retired in 2000 after 30 years on the Philadelphia police force, admitted using the Limewire file-sharing network to download and view child porn, authorities said. He's charged with 50 counts of possession and six counts of disseminating the images.

Haley was released on unsecured bail yesterday. His preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for July 26 in Media district court.
