Gunmen sought in Nicetown, Summerdale slayings
Police yesterday were seeking suspects in two unrelated Thursday-night shootings that left a Nicetown man and a Summerdale teenager dead.
In the first case, police responded to a report of a shooting at the Noeliza Mini Market, at 16th Street near Bristol, just before 7:30 p.m.
Inside, they found customer Anthony Jenkins, 39, who lived down the block on 16th Street, bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, police said. Paramedics declared him dead on the scene at 7:55 p.m. Police listed argument as the motive but reported no suspects.
Just after 8:30 p.m., police found Wyana Archer, 17, of Granite Street near Summerdale Avenue, shot in the back on Hurley Street near Courtland, in Feltonville, police said.
Archer was rushed to Temple University Hospital, but doctors declared him dead at 9:11 p.m. Police reported no suspects or motive.
