The 45-year-old Lindenwold man, who worked for the New Jersey Department of Transportation, was assisting the driver of a broken-down minivan near the I-295 interchange when he was struck by a southbound Dodge Magnum shortly after 1 p.m., said Sgt. Stephen Jones, state police spokesman.

The Dodge, driven by a 28-year-old Berlin woman, also hit the minivan, injuring that vehicle's driver and a passenger, Jones said.
