'I'll never get this kind of ticket again'

BRYAN WERLEY faces a tough decision.

Werley, 30, of Northern Liberties, has two seats behind the Phillies' dugout for next Monday's potential Game 5 of the World Series.

A Center City lawyer, he grew up in Allentown following the Phillies. The last thing he wants to do is give up those precious tickets, each with a face value of $180.

But, as of yesterday, seats in Werley's row for that game were listed on StubHub.com for $2,858.

"I don't know how to justify holding onto a three-grand ticket," Werley said.

On StubHub, seats in Werley's Section 116 range from $1,750 to $5,000 for seats just one row behind his.

"If I sell it, I could buy three more season tickets for the Phillies," he said. He also said that it would help pay off some of his bills.

After missing out on last year's World Series, Werley and his best friend had bought partial-season tickets for Sunday home games this year, making them eligible for postseason tickets.

"I'll never get this kind of ticket again," he said, adding that his friend will go along with whatever he decides.

Werley said that he's leaning toward selling the infield tickets and trying to buy cheaper seats.

At this point, he said, missing the game is not an option.

"I've never been to the World Series," he said, shaking his head.
