Shortly after 8 last night, Nathaniel Lopez, 39, was found with a gunshot wound to the chest outside his home in the 100 block of West Fisher Steet in Olney.
He was pronounced dead at Albert Einstein Medical Center at 8:28 p.m.
Two unknown males who fled in a dark vehicle may been involved.
Early Tuesday morning, a man died from a shooting in the 5600 block of Arch Street in West Philadelphia.
He was Syed Blackwell, 29, who lived on North Frazier near Market Street, just a couple of blocks from the where he was found at 1:41 a.m.
A single gunshot wound to the buttocks proved fatal. He was pronounced dead at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at 2:20 a.m.
As of midnight, the city's homicide total for the year was 240, down from 258 a year ago and 320 in 2007.
