Lane restrictions at night on Rte. 202

Route 202 in Chester County will be restricted to one lane in each direction overnight Wednesday and Thursday so that crews can demolish the northern half of the Swedesford Road overpass at the Route 29 interchange in East Whiteland.

Route 202 in Chester County will be restricted to one lane in each direction overnight Wednesday and Thursday so that crews can demolish the northern half of the Swedesford Road overpass at the Route 29 interchange in East Whiteland.

The lane restriction will begin at 10 p.m. both days and continue until 5 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation. Daytime lane restrictions on Swedesford Road at the overpass, between the intersections of Routes 29 and 401, also will occur Monday through Friday for demolition.

The work, which is weather-dependent, is part of construction to modify or replace seven bridges over Route 202 between North Valley Road and the Route 30 Bypass. When completed, the span will have an additional northbound and southbound lane. For more information, go to www.us202-300.com. - Kathleen Brady Shea
