McDonald's holdup in NE

Three armed men held up a McDonald's in Oxford Circle yesterday and escaped with $500 to $600, police said.

The point-of-gun robbery happened shortly after 11 a.m. at Oxford Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard. The suspects remain at large.

Cruiser, car collide in Olney

A police cruiser and civilian vehicle collided at Mascher Street and Olney Avenue, in Olney, about 5:35 a.m. yesterday.

The 35th District officer was treated for minor injuries at Albert Einstein Medical Center and released. A passenger in the civilian vehicle, a black Nissan, was treated and released at the same hospital for cuts.

No ID for man shot by cops

The name of a homeless man who was shot and killed by police Friday morning on a concourse across from City Hall has not yet been released, pending notification of next-of-kin.

The 60-year-old man allegedly lunged at officers with a utility knife about 8:30 a.m. and was subsequently shot in the torso. He was pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital.

Frankford shooting probed

Police are investigating a double shooting in Frankford early Friday that left a man and a woman in critical condition.

The shooting, on Brill Street near Frankford Avenue, occurred shortly after midnight when a 25-year-old man was shot multiple times and his 23-year-old female companion was shot twice. The woman was taken to Aria Health - Torresdale and the man was taken to Temple University Hospital. Both remained in critical condition as of yesterday.

4 saved near Cape Henlopen

The Coast Guard and a Good Samaritan rescued four people Saturday after their 18-foot boat capsized in the vicinity of Harbor of Refuge Light, near Cape Henlopen, Del. The crew of the private boat notified the Coast Guard at 10:13 a.m. that it had rescued four people. A rescue-boat crew from Coast Guard Station Indian River, Del., took the four to Lewes Fire and Rescue Department, where they were treated for any medical concerns. *
