Construction begins on 8th Burlco park

Construction has begun on Burlington County's eighth park, the 35-acre Boundary Creek Natural Resource Area, along the Rancocas Creek in Moorestown.

"This will be a great place for families, school field trips and others to walk the trails through meadows and wetlands that have been preserved to protect and encourage natural habitat," said Freeholder Stacey Jordan.

The park will include a two-tiered platform with telescopes overlooking the creek, a butterfly garden with a small waterfall, restrooms and about 1.5 mile of trails.

Taylor Design Group of Mount Laurel is the project designer, and Green Construction Co. of South River was awarded a $2.49 million construction contract, according to a release from the county freeholders. Construction began last month and is set to be completed this fall.

"Tucked away amidst residential development along Creek Road, Boundary Creek park will offer an incredible opportunity for nature lovers and bird watchers to enjoy wildlife in a rustic, tranquil setting," said Freeholder Bill Haines Jr.
