Mega Millions is way up, while Powerball is back down.
One Wisconsin ticket won the Powerball jackpot of $31 million last night, so Saturday's top annuity prize will be $20 million.
Dwarfing that amount is the $200 million up for grabs in tomorrow night's Mega Millions lottery.
For now, a state can offer only one of the two major multistate lotteries, so players in Pennsylvania and Delaware - two of the 31 Powerball states - can get Mega Millions tickets only in New Jersey, Maryland, New York or one of nine other states.
Early next year, however, that could change. Under an agreement announced this week between the two major multistate lotteries, any of the member states could offer both games.
Last night, Powerball also produced two $1 million winners - in Indiana and Tennessee. Those tickets had the Power Play multiplier option while matching the first five numbers drawn: 5, 15, 25, 30 and 40. They missed only the Powerball, which was 6.
A dozen other tickets, including one in Pennsylvania, won $200,000 for having the first five without out the Power Play. Missouri, North Carolina and South Carolina each had two such winners, while Florida, Indiana, Kansas, North Dakota and Tennessee each had one.
Mega Millions rolled over Tuesday night, because no one had all the numbers: 17, 31, 34, 45 and 51, with a Mega Ball of 24.
Two New Jersey tickets won $250,000 for matching the first five numbers. Each of eight other states - California, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Texas and Virginia - had one such winner.
