SUV going 100 when it killed Cherry Hill mom, daughter, say authorities

Authorities have identified the Cherry Hill mother and daughter who were killed in a crash with an SUV  estimated to have been traveling 100 mph when it struck their car in Merchantville on Thursday.

Anada Medina, 36, and her 18-year-old daughter, Stephanie Garcia, died when their Honda Odyssey collided head-on with a Dodge Durango at the intersection of Chapel and Russell avenues, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

The prosecutor's office said the Durango may have been traveling up to 100 mph, according to statements from witnesses. The area has a 25 mph speed limit.

The crash happened at about 3:40 p.m., when the Durango driving north crossed a lane of oncoming traffic, then hit the Odyssey in the traffic circle.

The Durango driver, a 31-year-old man, and a female passenger are both in critical condition at Cooper University Hospital.
