Police in Lower Merion have charged a 35-year-old Berks County man already in custody for allegedly robbing an Exton bank in July, with the armed robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank in Haverford a year ago.

Lower Merion police identified the suspect as Marcus Ricketts, 35, from Boyertown.

On Aug. 9, 2011, at 12:51 p.m., a man entered the Wells Fargo Bank in Haverford, went to a teller and announced a hold-up. He was armed with a handgun, and after the robbery, fled the scene, police said.

On July 2, 2012, a man robbed the M&T Bank in Exton, and was apprehended by Uwchlan Township Police. Investigators said a follow-up investigation determined that he was the same man that robbed the Wells Fargo Bank.

Ricketts is currently being held at the Chester County Prison. He will be arraigned on Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. in Ardmore on the Lower Merion charges.
