The Trocadero

Known to all as "The Troc," this one-time burlesque and Yiddish theater in the heart of Chinatown is a throwback to "classic" rock ballrooms like the Fillmore East.

It's the way a rock venue was always supposed to be - loud and lively, a place to see and be seen. All ages are admitted, with the over-21 set allowed into the balcony where liquor is served. Bookings lean heavily on underground punk, metal, jam and alt-rock bands.

Take a study break with low-budget Movie Monday nights.
