The competition begins at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 3 for the preliminaries and pre-quarter finals. On Saturday, March 4, the competition starts at 9:00 a.m. for wrestlebacks #1, #2 and #3 and quarter-finals. Following the morning session, Boardwalk Hall will clear the facility and re-open doors at 5:00 p.m. for the 6:00 p.m. evening session of the semi-finals and wrestlebacks #4 and #5. On Sunday, March 5, competition begins at 10 a.m. for wrestleback #6 and consolations, followed by the finals and awards ceremony at 2:00 p.m. Doors open one hour prior to each session. The tournament is the highlight of the year for New Jersey wrestlers. The race for the championship titles begins with the district competitions on Friday, February 17 and Saturday, February 18 in each of the 14 weight classes (106 lbs, 113 lbs, 120 lbs, 126 lbs, 132 lbs, 138 lbs, 145 lbs, 152 lbs, 160 lbs, 170 lbs, 182 lbs, 195 lbs, 220 lbs, 285 lbs.) and is open to all New Jersey high schools who are members of the NJSIAA. The competition heightens with the final regional competition on Wednesday, February 22, Friday, February 24, and Saturday, February 25. The season culminates with the State Championships in Atlantic City where the top wrestlers in each weight class of the eight regions will vie for the Championship Title.
