Valley Forge Military College is proud to announce its 1st Women's Leadership Symposium, celebrating 10 years of empowering women at the college. The Women's Leadership Symposium will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. - 12 p.m. Highlights of the day will include a full breakfast, round table discussions, and networking. This year's featured speakers are Dr. Carol Eggert, Vice President of Military and Veteran Affairs at Comcast , and Vice Admiral Sandra Stosz, Deputy Commandant for Mission Support for the U.S. Coast Guard. The Symposium will not only commemorate the anniversary of women attending the college, but also serve as the kick-off event for establishing a new mentorship program supporting future student goals. The funding will benefit the resourcing of the mentor program along with the opportunity for continued networking events for students and mentors. The mentorship program will focus on providing students an opportunity to connect with industry leaders, gaining insight into their future career paths and building leadership and character skills.
In 2010, Joseph Theinert a Valley Forge Military College graduate, '06C, TAPS was killed in the line of duty while serving our nation in Afghanistan. Finding his platoon under hostile fire, 1LT Theinert was killed while disarming an IED, saving the lives of 20 soldiers under his command. In memory of 1LT Theinert, a fallen hero, a scholarship fund was established in his name to benefit Valley Forge Military College cadets planning to serve in the military.
