What happens when art and history collide? In a word, magic. The eighteenth century world, as Humphry Marshall knew it, comes alive as Adrian Martinez artistically curates the multifaceted exhibit to showcase the richness of early Pennsylvanian history. Viewers will experience a series of twelve newly completed paintings by Martinez depicting the evolution of Chester County from frontier-land to farmland.
The Chester County Historical Society, in partnership with Longwood Gardens, presents an evening exploring "A Legacy of Plant Exploration." There will be a wine-and-cheese reception, a tour of the Historical Society exhibit and talks from artist Adrian Martinez, Longwood Gardens instructor David Culp and Longwood Gardens Curator Peter Zale. Inclement weather date is March 9.
