Philadelphia Flyers Games

Hockey is back for the 2005-2006 season and Philadelphia is pumped. The Flyers made a huge off-season pick up by acquiring seven-time All Star Peter Forsberg from the Colorado Avalanche. He joins the likes of Simon Gagne, Mark Recci and Tony Amonte as the Flyers try to bring the Lord Stanley’s Cup back to South Philadelphia for the first time in 20 years. The Philadelphia Flyers had advanced to the National Hockey League playoffs for ten consecutive seasons from 1995-2004, before the NHL player’s strike erased the 2004-05 season. This year, they lokk to pick up right where they left off. On May 19, 1974, the Flyers became the first expansion team to win the Stanley Cup and then won it again the following year. The Flyers also advanced to the Finals in 1987 and 1997, where they were defeated by the Edmonton Oilers and Detroit Red Wings. The Flyers play at the Wachovia Center.
