Weather@Home Bluetooth-enabled Weather Station

Oregon Scientific, a pioneer of home weather stations that display up-to-the-minute weather and forecasts for your precise location, has added a new twist with the Weather@Home Bluetooth-enabled Weather Station. Now you can glance at the 7.3-inch-by-3.7-inch screen on the base unit for information, or, with the use of a free app, monitor the details via your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet. Transmission range is about 150 feet, so you can be pretty much anywhere on the property (but not much beyond that, unless you take the base unit and outdoor sensor unit with you). No more having to get a vague sense of the weather more or less near you by clicking on online weather apps. You can monitor indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, check the moon phase, and get a 12-hour weather forecast with barometric pressure readings and trends, as well as weather warning messages for wind, storms, fog, ice, frost, and high temperatures. There's a push-button LED backlight. Weather@Home App is available for iOS and Android operating systems. Main unit runs on three AA batteries (included); outdoor sensor on one AA battery (included).

Weather@Home Bluetooth-enabled Weather Station (BAR218HG) is $59.99 at www.oregonscientific.com/us
