MARYLAND Baltimore celebrates LGBT communities and families during the Baltimore Pride Festival June 13-15 at Mount Royal Avenue and Cathedral Street (two blocks from Penn Station).

Down by the river

MASSACHUSETTS Cambridge River Festival 2014, at Central Square, is June 7. There will be stages of live national and local jazz, folk, world music, dance, poetry and theater. Visitors also enjoy family entertainment, interactive art and demonstrations, crafts, and an assortment of foods.

NEW JERSEY Michael Arnone's 25th Annual Crawfish Fest, May 30-June 1 at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, features the music and food of Louisiana and New Orleans and four stages with Cajun, zydeco, Delta blues, New Orleans R&B, brass, gospel and jazz. Camping available.

PENNSYLVANIA The Three Rivers Arts Festival, June 7-16 in and around Pittsburgh, is its region's largest multidisciplinary showcase of visual and performing arts. Free.

Gallery open houses

RHODE ISLAND Newport Gallery Night is June 12. Various galleries and museums open their doors to visitors, 5-8 p.m. Exhibits include handblown glass, woodblock prints, award-winning photography, international handcrafts, and fine arts.

Grillin' and chillin'

VIRGINIA The Virginia Pork Festival is June 11 in Emporia with 43,000 pounds of pork served hot off the grill, along with fixins and dessert. Also, there will be 12 craft beers on tap.
