Living Beyond Breast Cancer's annual Butterfly Ball

Haverford-headquartered non-profit Living Beyond Breast Cancer hosted its annual Butterfly Ball at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel Saturday evening.

It was an evening full of butterflies, ball gowns, and breast cancer awareness as Haverford-headquartered non-profit Living Beyond Breast Cancer held its annual Butterfly Ball at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel Saturday evening.

The black tie affair brought together a packed room full of supporters who enjoyed cocktails, an awards dinner and dancing reception. Through cocktail hour, guests bid on tables full of silent auction items ranging from sports paraphernalia and travel offerings, to a Rittenhouse Row day package.

Heaps of sweets were offered by multiple local businesses, including an ornate, five-tiered cake adorned with butterflies and flowers provided by Termini Brothers Bakery to celebrate the worthy cause. And to burn off the delectable treats, guests grooved through midnight in tuxes, bow ties and gowns on the warmer-than-usual November evening.

The awards ceremony lauded Dr. Debra Somers Copit with the Founder's Award, LBBC's biggest honor. Additional honorees included Stephanie Lawrence, Tyesha Love and Jackie Roth. The Butterfly Ball, which raises hundreds of thousands of dollars to help fund LBBC programs, was co-chaired by Beth and Steven Haas, Jeanne and Sam Pace, Liz and Steven Raynes and Nicole and Jamie Robinson.

Living Beyond Breast Cancer helps women nationwide who are diagnosed with cancer by offering financial and psychological support. The gala serves as a major fundraising opportunity for LBBC each year.
