Daffy's, that wonderful treasure trove of discount finds on Chestnut Street, is scheduled to close on Sept. 30. As I type, I'm thinking back on the unique items I've been able to unearth from there - a pantsuit from an Italian designer long enough for my lanky frame, a red pleated skirt that I got for practically a steal, and high-end designer jacket for my mom that was all but free.

I'm going to miss that store. In its 20 years in the Philly market, it's become a fashion institution - a truly hit or miss place to shop - but an institution nonethless. I hear employees, who got word on Wednesday, are still processing the news. Some have been there for two decades. "We're like a family," one said.

So, might there be some really huge sale in the weeks ahead? Not likely. The employee I spoke with says the store will be using a liquidator to clear out merchandise.

Are you sad to see Daffy's go?
Yes, I'm going to miss it
No, the store was a terrible place to shop
