Philadelphia University student designers always are inspired by the unusually cool.

The school's annual spring fashion show, produced for the second year at Moulin at Sherman Mills, featured the sophisticated work of 110 student designers. Their creative muses ranged from artsy Japanese woodworking to an abstract state of regression.

The collections rolled out at a quick pace, and the cute pieces included tie-dye jumpsuits, ruffled maxis, lacy bralettes, oversize hoodies and sweatpants, and the requisite Go Red! American Heart Association red dress.

Mike Ternosky, a Philadelphia University class of 2000 alum and head designer of Shepard Fairey's Obey Clothing, presented an award in his own name to Cassie O'Toole, deeming her the night's most creative designer. O'Toole modeled her eclectic streetwear collection after pieces of blown glass.

Other top winners of the night included Sierra Rocco, who snagged the Carson Kressley Most Ready for Retail Award for a collection of denim prints; and Danielle Clark, who won the school's Faculty Award for her casual, ready-to-wear collection reminiscent of Japanese tea bowls.
