Maxi dresses with sunset-hued swirls, color-blocked dresses with thick zigzaggy stripes, and metallic bathing suits were among the trendy student work featured last month at Moore College of Art & Design's fashion show.

Students were inspired by artists Vincent van Gogh, Franz Marc, and Wassily Kandinsky. Collections included hand-crocheted minis courtesy of student designer Laura Murray, who won the most salable collection award. Eva Su's evening wear featured amazing, and totally wearable, tissue-thin long-sleeve gowns in paisley prints. Moore also welcomed back Season 12 Project Runway winner and alumna Dom Streater, who served as the evening-wear critic.

The Art Institute of Philadelphia held its senior showcase at the Arts Ballroom the same weekend. Students' work featured futuristic minis in breathable material. The most memorable look came from Bao Ho, whose collection of pastel A-line dresses with floral appliques was perfect for spring tea.
