3. Harness the Power of Oils

It used to be a big no-no to massage oils on your face but now they’re all the rage—and for good reason. Dry facial oils are the latest way to restore a more youthful glow. The oils are so lightweight they leave your face feeling like satin.

Try: Vichy Neovadiol Elixir. It’s a precious skin potion contains a powerful combination of three omega-rich oils to replump your skin. What's really great is you can use it as a mask, a balm or a serum—it's super light and very silky. $55,

4. Deep Treat Once a Week

While my vanity is stocked with plenty of face masks and treatments to give my skin some TLC each day, truth is, I only have time for a special treatment once a week. And that’s plenty because too many treatments can lead to irritation. Your best bet is to keep it simple. I try to sneak in just one face mask on a Sunday night and I reach for a multi-tasking mask that tackles many skin problems at once.

Try: GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment. Clinically developed by dermatological chemists to help fight all common skin concerns including breakouts, discoloration, black and white heads, razor bumps, and in-grown hair. Powerful, skin-clearing mud visibly draws out dirt and congestion while a proprietary six-acid blend dramatically brightens and softens skin. $69,

5. Stop Product Hopping

Patience is a virtue and it’s your best in getting the results you want. Constantly switching products can be counterproductive and if you spent some money on that new skin cream, give it some time to work.

Try: La Prairie Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Cream. If you’re up for a splurge and willing to stick with it, the results are quite remarkable. Formulated with the best that science and nature have to offer, Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Cream features a youth-preserving complex (comprised of saxifraga oppositifolia, soldanella alpina, and Swiss snow algae), which fortifies your skin’s resistance and adaptability to a world of daily skin aging extremes. $300,

6. Stay Hydrated

No beauty product in the world can match the skin beautifying power of hydrating from the inside out. Eating the right foods can give you that ‘lit from within’ glow but you must always keep a close eye on your water intake. (You know this already, but it bears repeating!) If you have a hard time getting down the good stuff, check out some of latest infused waters on the market to carry with you and amp up the cool factor.

Try: blk Spring Water Infused with Fulvic Acid. This scientifically conceived spring water contains a careful balance of minerals and electrolytes. With over 77 trace minerals and electrolytes, blk is a refreshing and thirst-quenching sip that will totally surprise you. It’s naturally black in color—no artificial dyes, coloring, or additives. One pack of 12 blk bottles in Black Lemonade and you’ll be hooked. $39, or visit to find a location near you./

Confession: I have never ever in my life had an injection, filler or any type of procedure on my face. But please hold your applause. It’s not because I have taken some beauty high road for bucking the Botox trend; truth is, I’m deathly afraid. Yep, even routine facials kind of freak me out for some strange reason. As a beauty editor, I’m privy to some of the most high-tech treatments available in the free world carte blanche but just because I could turn to fillers for a fast fix, it doesn’t necessarily mean I should.

So how is it possible that my skin looks better than it did 20 years ago? The fountain of youth is at everyone’s fingertips and you don’t need painful or pricey procedures to get it.
