Firefly could light up your home

THE DAILY NEWS Pet of the Week is Firefly, a 2-year-old female American English Coonhound mix who is searching for her forever family.

Firefly came to the PSPCA as a victim of animal cruelty. At the time, she was suffering from a wound on her hind leg that was so severe that she spent a significant amount of time in our shelter hospital receiving treatment. She is finally recovered, and this energetic girl is in search of a family to call her own.

Due to the time she has spent in the shelter, Firefly will need a patient owner to work with her on her manners, but she is gentle and adores sitting in your lap or at your side.

For more information about Firefly, call the PSPCA at 215-426-6300, stop by the shelter at 350 E. Erie Ave., North Philadelphia, or visit pspca.org.
