THE DAILY NEWS Pet of the Week is Maxie, a wonderful, 14-year-old Domestic Shorthair (probably) at the Pennsylvania SPCA who is very scared in the shelter and looking for a permanent home.

Maxie, who was surrendered recently by his owner, has a loving and wonderful personality inside of him, but that doesn't always shine through when potential adopters meet him. The PSPCA is looking for someone who will give him the chance to shine - is that you?
